In a number of important recruiting battles for USC football, this upcoming weekend marks an important set of days on that front for the program. Between commits and currently undecided high school athletes, the Trojans are expected to host around 15 athletes from Thursday, April 10th, until Saturday, April 12th.
Included on the list is four-star edge rusher Trenton Henderson from Florida. Currently a junior, the defensive playmaker has interest from Florida State, Alabama, and Texas, among other SEC schools and programs from other conferences. He's currently making the rounds across the nation, doing his homework and finding his best fit.
For someone who has his sights on the NFL, program development will be important. Wherever he has gone, every respective fanbase has been excited over the prospect of Henderson potentially picking their school to continue his playing career.
Another four-star prospect who is generating buzz is Luke Wafle. The New Jersey native is another edge rusher who is part of the 2026 class. With offers from Penn State, Ohio State, and Clemson, the defender will equally have his fair share of options to pick from when he makes his final decision.
Safe to say, with a lot of top programs offering and inviting Wafle to campus, USC making a good impression will be important. He too is someone who has a lot of deserved hype surrounding him. Many believe that as a freshman he'll be able to make an instant impact.
In a sport that can never have too much talent, Lincoln Riley and D'Anton Lynn would undoubtedly love to have both pledge for the Cardinal and Gold immediately over the weekend. Although that is not a likely possibility with the expansive list that both athletes will need to make a decision from, becoming something of a front runner early in the recruiting process for the juniors is possible with a good visit to Los Angeles.
California remaining the focus for USC football
Based on On3's list from Scott Schrader, a lot of California talent will be visiting the USC football program as well. Of the 15 or so, three uncommitted players will be from Mater Dei, and four will be from other CA high schools, including Loyola's Max Meier.
The continued push to recruit well in the upcoming classes straight out of high school is the focus for coach Riley and GM Chad Bowden. News may not emerge over the next few days from the expected visitors. A later announcement from any of the recruits in the summer could end up having its USC football roots from a mid-April visit.
