USC has received a Crystal Ball prediction on 247Sports for blue-chip safety prospect Khalil Terry. The 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back from Tustin, California, holds 33 total offers and was previously committed to Michigan State.

The class of 2027 prospect is ranked as the No. 27 safety nationally and theNo. 23 overall player in California. The four-star defensive standout would mark USC’s first commitment in the 2027 class, further underscoring the coaching staff’s intentional focus on strengthening the secondary for the future.

In 2024,Terry recorded four interceptions and five tackles for loss, highlighting his playmaking ability on defense. His 50-plus tackles further demonstrate his versatility and impact in both the run and passing game. Known for his physical style of play, Terry projects as a strong fit for the rigors of Big Ten competition. Over two varsity seasons at Tustin High School, he has already amassed more than 110 total tackles.

Terry certainly ranks among the top defensive backs in the West Region, and his potential commitment would provide a major spark to USC’s 2027 recruiting class. He made an unofficial visit to USC on September 27, which reportedly went very well, generating strong buzz around the Trojans’ chances. There is growing momentum and optimism that Terry will eventually commit to USC, kickstarting a 2027 class projected to feature 15–18 total commitments, according to General Manager Chad Bowden.
