The USC Trojans will begin their NCAA Tournament campaign on Saturday, March 22nd, at 3 pm, when they take on the UNC Greensboro Spartans. The women of Troy made it to the elite eight in 2024 and will be heavily favored in their first step towards returning to that round or progressing further. The Spartans will be making their second NCAA tournament appearance after falling 94-46 to Alabama in the first round in 1998 as a No. 15 seed.

UNCG vs. USC prediction
UNCG will be playing in the the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 27 years, and with a 25-6 record (13-1 in the SoCon conference) they are as accomplished as No. 16 seeds can be. As successful as their season has been, keeping up with USC will be extremely difficult and unlikely.
The Trojans are led by star sophomore guard Juju Watkins, who led the team in scoring (24.6), assists (3.5), steals (2.2), and blocks (T-1.9). Kiki Iriafen is the other part of a dynamic duo that has sparked USC all season. She was second on the squad in scoring (18.2) and first in rebounds (8.3) per game. Senior Center Rayah Marshall tied Watkins, averaging 1.9 blocks per game to give the Trojans two legitimate rim protectors.
UNCG will need a big-time performance from leading scorer Jayde Gamble (11.8) to stay close in this matchup and junior guard Jaila Lee (39.1 3P%) will need to get in on the action, especially from distance.
