When looking at how USC is starting to recruit again and the number of great talents that will be Trojans on both sides of the ball, there is a lot to like about how this team is shaping up.

More importantly, because of how this staff is strengthening ties with the players while they are still in high school, there is an increased bond within the team already.

Projecting forward, there is a lot of talent already in and joining the Trojans in the upcoming years that will be able to help USC fans somewhat look past some of the bad seasons that have taken place since coach Pete Carroll's departure.

There is a fresh, clean slate for all programs with the beginning of the new NIL era and the college football playoff that continues to seek expansion. More teams will have opportunities to get into the dance and will have the ability to go on a run when it matters most.

Throughout the season and offseason alike, the staff will be busy trying to solidify players and keep those already on the roster engaged and wanting to stick with the program. It is in this area that the Trojans should be able to quickly separate themselves from a lot of other teams throughout the nation.

Because of this, there is a strong belief that those currently on the depth chart and committed to USC will stick it out more often than not.

Fast forward two years into the future, and the thought of Husan Longstreet competing and passing up the seam to Mark Bowman is an offense that Trojan fans can get behind. On defense, watching the likes of Talanoa Ili and Jahkeem Stewart set the tone on that side of the ball gives a sense of the current version of some of the past great Trojan units.

This is a result of USC deciding to make the better, long-term moves as a staff, versus only looking to find stopgap measures. Bulking up and adding depth in the trenches has also been a critically important emphasis.

There are true, elite athletes on offense and defense on campus now. USC also has a lot of reinforcements coming in, and they will continue to push on the recruiting trail. Trojan football is building something incredible in Los Angeles again.
