USC Football Safety Xavion Alford is now in the transfer portal again. He came to SC via a transfer in the offseason after the 2020 season from Texas, and now looks to transfer out again. This likely means that he'll have to sit out a year at his new destination. Alford didn't see the field for USC this year, and it appears that injuries are the reason why.

For what it's worth, he was productive for the Trojans in his first season in Cardinal and Gold. He recorded 31 tackles, three interceptions, and three PD's in the 2021 season. Alford has talent--coming out of high school as the No. 8 Safety in the 2020 recruiting class. It would not be surprising if he had suitors.

USC Basketball News

USC Basketball has now won three straight games to get to 7-3 on the season. They beat Cal State Fullerton by a score of 64-50 to solidify their fourth place standing in the Pac-12. It's a tie in-conference with ASU, Utah, UCLA, and USC all tied for first with 2-0 Pac-12 records. SC has the worst overall record of the four, though.

Still, however, the team appears to be catching fire. That's important because the team needs to be staying afloat as they await for the hopeful return of five-star true freshman Center Vince Iwuchukwu. SC should have an opportunity to survive another game here with their next contest coming against 4-4 Long Beach State at Galen.

The Heisman Trophy Ceremony is Saturday night at 5 p.m. PT, and USC Football's Caleb Williams is one of the four finalists. Williams will be in New York City along with TCU QB Max Duggan, Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud, and Georgia QB Stetson Bennett. Williams is the favorite for the Trophy, and would be SC's eighth all-time.

That would make for the most Heisman Trophy-winners of any program in the country. Williams' top resume lines are his 47 (37 passing) total touchdowns to four interceptions, his 4,075 passing yards and 372 rushing yards, and his ability to turn USC into an 11-2 team in his first year here after they were 4-8 without him last year.
