USC’s QB Williams to be honored
By Joshua Burt
This Saturday, USC will be playing its annual spring game at United Airlines Field at LA Memorial Coliseum at noon. The exhibition game itself is more of a glorified practice. However, it will be nice to watch the halftime “show” this year.
USC’s quarterback, Caleb Williams, will be honored during halftime for his outstanding season in 2022. Williams pretty much won every single award that is given to an offensive player/quarterback.
Heisman Trophy
Maxwell Award
Walter Camp Award
AP College Football Player of the Year
Unanimous All-American
PAC-12 Offensive Player of the Year
First-team All-PAC -12
These incredible accolades come after playing only one previous season at Oklahoma before transferring and following head coach Lincoln Riley to Southern California. This monster season saw Williams put up 4,537 passing yards, 42 touchdowns to 5 interceptions, on a completion percentage of 66.6% in 14 games. He was also able to rush for another 382 yards and 10 touchdowns.
During halftime, he will be presented with the Heisman trophy by the Heisman Trophy Trust. This honor has been given to seven other USC Trojans in the past, with the last coming to Reggie Bush in 2005.
Fight On!
