USC Football takes on a 1-8 Colorado team on Friday, as the No. 8 Trojans (8-1) are on a short week this week. It's the first and only short week of the season, but there will be no excuses for a loss against a Colorado team this bad. Colorado is dead last in the Power 5 in both points scored per game (15.6), and points allowed per game (40.22).
With this game not being on the traditional Saturday game day, a live stream very well may be needed for plenty of USC fans. Not only is Colorado obviously having a bad year and playing with an interim head coach, but they historically can't figure the Trojans out. CU has never beat USC in their entire history. They're 0-15 against the Trojans. Friday is going to be a major opportunity for USC QB1 Caleb Williams to put together yet another Heisman performance for his resume.
Williams currently has thrown 28 touchdown passes (32 total touchdowns) with only one turnover all season. He's averaging 10.3 adjusted yards per pass attempt, and he's also averaging four yards per rush attempt.
That's a nightmare for the Colorado defense that isn't good at defending either. They're currently 97th in pass yards per attempt allowed (8.36), and 130th in rush yards per attempt allowed (5.85).
This really goes to show that this is an opportunity for USC Football RB1 Travis Dye to really show out too.
Sure, Williams is likely to dominate this CU defense, but with the Buffaloes being that bad at defending the run--look for Dye to feast in whatever opportunities he gets. He currently is averaging 6.3 yards per rush, and has scored at least one rushing touchdown in each of his last eight games. And the best part is that he can also help exploit that Buffaloes' pass D.
Dye has caught 20 passes for 194 receiving yards this year. To do that in an offense that has tons of weapons out on the perimeter is incredibly impressive for Dye. He and Williams should dominate, and be the center of attention, unless Jordan Addison and Mario Williams are back from injury. In that case, all four might have a field day in this PAC-12 matchup.
