The 2022 Outland Trophy Watch List has been released, and USC Football OT/OG Andrew Vorhees and DT Tuli Tuipulotu were selected on the list. The Award goes to the top interior lineman in college football, and therefore Vorhees and Tuipulotu are of course in the conversation.

Vorhees belongs on the list as he only allowed one sack all season last year, despite having to constantly switch back and forth between Left Guard and Left Tackle.

His versatility was incredible, as he still was the only offensive lineman in football last year with both a 90+ PFF grade for both run-blocking AND pass-blocking despite the lack of continuity in the positions he was playing.

Tuli Tuipulotu also is rightfully representing USC football on this list along with Andrew Vorhees.

Andrew Vorhees has been great for USC football for multiple years in a row now, but so has Tuli Tuipulotu. In Tuipulotu's two years with SC, he's played in 17 of USC's 18 games and collected 70 tackles as a tackle. That's very good, and so are his 10 tackles for loss in that time to go along with 7.5 sacks.

Again, for an interior lineman to put up these numbers is legit, and last year he had a couple of PD's as a DT to go along with his 5.5 sacks. He also had a scoop and score to add to his 7.5 tackles for loss. He forced a couple of fumbles too. He's been a HUGE score from that lowly 2020 recruiting class.

Will either of these win the award? Well, Vorhees most certainly has a chance. Tuipulotu might be a stretch, but he certainly should be one of the 89 on the Watch List, and he's still a beast. For a program who gets a lot of flack for not having any strong play in the trenches, this watch list most certainly disagrees.
