Top 50 2023 wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. dropped his favorites list with USC football in the mix for the Las Vegas prospect early on.
USC football has a welcome habit of drawing in outstanding wide receivers. If the Trojans play their cards right, the recruiting class of 2023 can keep things rolling.
Four-star wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. could be next in line.
Moore Jr. dropped a favorites list of 12 on Monday, including USC along with Miami, Texas, ASU, Georgia, Florida State, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Florida.
The 5-foot-10 wide receiver reported an offer from USC in December 2019, so he has been on the Trojans' radar for a long while.
Gabe Brooks of 247Sports praised Moore for "his twitchy athleticism and better-than-expected ball-winning ability," which could allow him to play outside or in the slot at the college level.
It's that skill that has Moore ranked No. 42 in the class of 2023, per the 247Sports composite. He is No. 5 among wide receivers and No. 1 in the state of Nevada.
USC needs to prepare for turnover at the wide receiver spot, especially if they're churning out success stories like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Drake London every three years.
The Trojans don't currently have any commitments for the class of 2023, but it's still very early for that cycle. The focus right now is on the class of 2022, though building a relationship with a player like Moore shouldn't have to wait.
There are plenty of big fish to pursue for 2022. Five-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan and four-star Mater Dei pass-catcher C.J. Williams are local prospects to key in on. USC can also swing for the fences pursuing five-star Missouri prospect Kevin Coleman and plenty of others.
