Domani Jackson eats up five-star Gentry Williams putting USC in favorites
Domani Jackson was a huge get for USC football recruiting earlier this year, and he's doing his best to make sure his impact extends beyond himself.
The Mater Dei star is using his relationships to make a push for the Trojans on the recruiting trail.
So it fits that Jackson was right there when five-star athlete Gentry Williams announced his Top 6 on Tuesday with USC joining Missouri, LSU, Arkansas, Florida, and Oklahoma in the battle for his signature.
It took just a few minutes for Jackson to jump in with a proposal of Pac-12 domination.
Williams is the No. 2 athlete and No. 19 overall in the class of 2022 as a dual-threat quarterback and defensive back prospect. USC is looking at him as the latter. Pairing up Jackson and Williams would be a dream.
The trouble is Oklahoma is currently the favorite for the Tulsa product. They have the edge by being close to home, but USC has Donte Williams and Jackson pushing to get him more comfortable leaving the roost.
CHECK OUT: Recruiting will keep USC afloat beyond Helton
The recruiting world has been busy with favorites lists lately. Here are some more to note:
Zac Swanson's Top 4
Four-star defensive end Zac Swanson dropped his Top 4 on Monday.
Swanson ranks No. 344 nationally as a 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive line prospect. He just picked up an offer from USC at the end of January, so there's a long way to go in this recruitment.
Christen Miller's now-Top 6
Four-star defensive tackle Christen Miller initially announced a Top 4 at the start of February, including Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Indiana, but he's made some adjustments. First, he added Ohio State to make a Top 5. Now it's a Top 6 with USC.
Miller picked up his offer from USC on Feb. 26, so he had reason to change up his favorites a bit.
The Trojans don't have a lot of time to make up ground. Miller is planning to announce his commitment on Easter Sunday, Apr. 4.
Qae'shon Sapp's Top 8
Nothing would bring USC fans greater joy than stockpiling big-time offensive linemen in the class of 2022. Making the Top 8 for four-star OT Qae'shon Sapp is a step in the right direction.
USC will need to take on Arkansas, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina to add the 6-foot-5, 340-pounder from Leesburg, Georgia.
Niuafe Tuihalamaka's Top 5
It wasn't all good news for USC in the favorites game this week. Former commit Niuafe Tuihalamaka dropped his Top 5 on Monday without the Trojans.
As a Top 75 inside linebacker from Bishop Alemany, it's tough to see him go from committed to favoring Notre Dame, ASU, Texas, Stanford, and Oregon.
