USC football has added to their already-stacked 2024 recruiting class with the new commitment pickup from Dylan Williams out of Long Beach Poly. Williams is a linebacker, and will likely be more of an outside linebacker in particular for SC.
He's a four-star recruit (all recruiting ratings and rankings in article are as of 247Sports), and the No. 16 linebacker in his class. SC needs backers BADLY, as they don't have very much depth there. They do have some talent within the position group, but even then, their talent players at the position are rather unproven right now.

Per Williams' Twitter bio, he is an OLB/ATH, so perhaps he's versatile enough to change positions when he heads to the Coliseum. That versatility is what SC is looking for, as they have proven recently in their decision to have Solomon Tuliaupupu play rush end as well as practice with his hand down on the ground on the defensive line.
New USC football linebacker commit Dylan Williams is the No. 195 overall recruit across the entire nation for 2024.
New USC football recruit Dylan Williams even played varsity football at Poly as a freshman in 2021. In just a four-game, pandemic-shortened season, Williams had 18 tackles, four sacks, and two picks. The No. 2 linebacker recruit in the state of California, this was a huge get for the Trojans.
Currently, the 2024 class is second in the nation behind only Florida State. All three of the Trojans' commitments are four-star guys, but FSU has four total commits to USC's three. Look for SC to potentially pull ahead, however, due to the likelihood that they will outperform them in this upcoming 2022 season.
