USC Basketball isn't what it once was earlier this season, but they're still a top 20 team with an opportunity to sweep a Pac-12 opponent Thursday night.
They take on Arizona State, a team that they beat about a week and a half ago by 22 points. ASU has been having major troubles this season, in what is pretty telling in how overrated Head Coach Bobby Hurley truly is.
He's a coach who's never made it past the round of 64 for the Sun Devils, yet everyone swore he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. If USC can't beat ASU tonight, something's wrong.
USC Trojans vs. ASU Odds: Line, Spread, Over/Under
The spread for Thursday night's game is -6 USC Trojans. The money line sits at -240 USC and +185 ASU. The over/under is 135 with it being -110 to take both the over and the under.
USC Trojans vs. ASU Prediction Thursday
Again, there would be no excuse for the 18-3 USC Trojans to lose to the 6-12 ASU Sun Devils. The Devils can't buy a win right now--dropping each of their last three contests. Even with SC not playing their best, they've won four of their last five.
While Alonzo Gaffney could potentially contain Isaiah Mobley (Gaffney is tied for second in the conference in blocks per game with 1.6), it's not very likely considering Mobley is lighting up the scoreboard no matter what. He's averaged almost 15 points per game in the season, which is tied for fourth in the Pac. The last time he played ASU, he still had 12 points.
Gaffney did do everything he could to protect the paint, and even had two blocks. Mobley is so versatile, however, that it didn't matter. He tried to force ASU forwards and centers to guard him out around the perimeter, and they couldn't. He hit two out of four threes.
2021 Pac-12 Coach of the Year Andy Enfield will dial something up tonight that will result in a win against ASU again.
