The Top 10 USC Trojans football players of the last decade
By John Fye
6. OL Alijah Vera-Tucker (2017-20)
Alijah Vera-Tucker finished his USC tenure as one of the most versatile offensive linemen in the program's history. After nearly departing the Trojans early, the Oakland native moved from guard to offensive tackle and earned the Morris Trophy as the Pac-12's most outstanding offensive lineman.
Vera-Tucker started 13 games at left guard as a sophomore. He was also a notable contributor to special teams as a redshirt freshman. In an era where offensive line play was critical to USC's success, few can argue Vera-Tucker's place among the best to do it. He finished his collegiate career with a First-team (2020) and Second-team (2019) All-Pac-12 honors.
5. DE Leonard Williams, (2012-14)
Leonard Williams barely met the eligibility requirements for our list, but his 2014 season speaks volumes. The 6'5, 302-pounder was named Team MVP after finishing the 2014 season with 90 tackles and seven sacks. Some USC fans might also recall Williams was moved from the interior to defensive end as a sophomore. The Bakersfield native was dominant in both positions and attracted the attention of NFL scouts.
Williams was drafted sixth overall by the New York Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft. His college career included two First-team All-American (2013, 2014) and two First-team All-Pac-12 (2013, 2014) selections. Williams was also the Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2012.
