When former four-star wide receiver (all recruiting ratings and rankings in article are as of 247Sports) Agiye Hall decided to hit the transfer portal, USC football was of course speculated by college football fans as an intriguing landing spot for the Alabama Wide Receiver.

Both USC and their new coach in Lincoln Riley have a strong resume in terms of developing wide receivers, and Hall certainly has quite a bit of talent that can be developed. Hall was the No. 5 wide receiver in the country coming out of Bloomingdale High School (Florida) in the 2021 recruiting class.

Hall was an interesting potential pickup for any school. He was the No. 45 overall recruit in his class--touting loads of talent, but hadn't caught on to the college game in his first year at Bama. He recorded just four catches for 72 yards.

Many expected him to really stand tall in the National Championship game last year with the Bama receiving corps dealing with significant injuries, but Hall returned just two catches. It was fitting, however, to see that the offensive coordinator who recruited him was the one to pick him up.

Former USC Football Head Coach Steve Sarkisian acquired Agiye Hall in the transfer portal.

Disappointing USC Football Head Coach Steve Sarkisian was the one to make the move for Agiye Hall. He was the OC at Alabama when Hall was being recruited by the Tide. Very few know his talent better than current Texas Head Coach Sarkisian. And Sark has a history of his own when it comes to developing receivers.

Some great college wide receivers Sarkisian at least contributed to the development of are Devonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jaylen Waddle, and John Ross. Four of these five were drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft. The only one that wasn't was USC's JuJu Smith-Schuster, but he was still drafted in the second round and is the only receiver on this list to make a Pro Bowl.

Many of these players, including JuJu, are expected to make Pro Bowls in the future as well. Sark has built himself a nice reputation when it comes to wideouts with these types of young receivers he has worked on.

While Hall is very talented, there were no reports of the team working towards signing him. They have quite a bit of talent on the outside already, and already brought in two four-star transfer receivers this offseason (Hall was listed as a four-star transfer). Riley has made it clear that he's not done plucking guys out of the portal, but receiver is already a position that he's worked hard on to collect. Hall was not needed on this SC roster.
