Former Rose Bowl-winning USC football linebacker Uchenna Nwosu has received a giant contract with former legendary USC Football Head Coach Pete Carroll's NFL team--the Seattle Seahawks. It's going to be a two-year, $20 million deal for Nwosu, which is of course much more than what he made on his rookie deal.

Nwosu made a total of $5,935,668 in his career through his rookie deal, and now will make a guaranteed $10.5 million through his new two-year/$20 million contract. Nwosu deserves this deal, as he balled in his contract year last season, recording five sacks, 40 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and recording 17 QB hits.

Nwosu also had a pick, a fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, and four PD's. The ex-USC football captain is the type of player who makes plays when needed most.

Uchenna Nwosu has carried his success that he had with USC football into the NFL.

The Chargers were getting a good one in Uchenna Nwosu when they took the USC Pac-12 Champion with the 48th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. As a Junior at SC, Nwosu posted 53 tackles and seven and a half of them for losses. He added on three sacks, five PD's, and a forced fumble.

His senior year was even better. He upped that tackle number to 75, increased his tackles for loss total to 11.5, and sacked the quarterback nine and a half times. He had a pick too, as well as a fumble recovery. He also improved drastically in the PD department, recording 13 PD's in 2017.

As soon as he got the chance to receive regular snaps at USC, his game took off. That was the case in the NFL too, as once he became the full-time starter in LA, he proved to be a high-impact player and deserving of the money he just signed for.

Unfortunately, Nwosu is going from one of the rising teams in the league with the Chargers to one of the most rapidly declining teams in the league with the Seahawks. The Seahawks are coming off of a rough 7-10 season and have said goodbye to their two best players in Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner this offseason. That being said, it also creates an opportunity for Nwosu to make his own mark on a franchise.
