Ronnie Lott was selected by the San Fransisco 49ers with the eighth pick in the 1981 NFL Draft as a defensive back. Lott played a lot of different positions in the secondary for the Niners and is yet another Hall of Famer on this list.
Lott became an immediate starter for the Niners and impressed in his rookie season. He led the league in pick-sixes and had seven interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and 89 total tackles. He was a First-Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler in his rookie season just missing out on Defensive Rookie of the Year, but was also in MVP voting and Defensive Player of the Year voting.
In 1986, Lott led the league in interceptions with 10 which was a career high, and then led the league again in that category in 1991 with eight interceptions. Lott showed he was a ballhawk who disrupted passes and was a problem for an offense he played against. Lott spent 10 years with the Niners before spending two years with the Raiders and then his final two seasons with the Jets.
Lott ended his career with a lot of accolades as a four-time Super Bowl Champion, an eight-time First-Team All-Pro, and a 10-time Pro Bowler. Lott added the ultimate trophy to his case by being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
