USC draft busts. 2005 NFL Draft. Mike Williams. . Mike Williams. player. Round 1, Pick 10. 2. 50.

There are a lot of players who played in the NFL by the name of Mike Williams. However, for this one, we obviously are talking about Mike Williams who played at USC and was drafted by the Detroit Lions with the 10th pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Williams seemed to be one of the best wide receivers in that draft class, but once he got to the league, he wasn't able to live up to the hype. Williams only had 350 receiving yards and one touchdown. He followed up his rookie season with two seasons under 100 yards and just one touchdown combined.

After a year of moving from team to team in 2007, Williams ended up in Seattle in 2010 after two years off and had a somewhat solid season with 751 receiving yards and two touchdowns. However, in what would be his final season in 2011, Williams only had 236 receiving yards and one touchdown.

For a top-10 pick in the draft, Williams definitely did not live up to the potential everyone thought he would. With the career he had at USC, it seemed like Williams could have been an elite WR1 in the NFL, but he fell short making him another USC NFL bust.
