There is still a chance of seeing USC win the Learfield Directors' Cup. That fate rests in the efforts of the Trojans who qualified and will participate during the NCAA Championships for track and field in Eugene, Oregon. Two of the best squads in the nation, under the guidance of Director Quincy Watts, will fight for their place within their respective events, and there is a lot of Trojan representation to look forward to.

The events began on June 11 and will go through June 14. ESPN will air the first two days. Friday will see the programming switched to ESPN2, and ESPNU will host the final day on television.

Focusing first on the sprint team, the women's side has consistently performed at one of the best levels when comparing times of all student-athletes throughout the nation.

Four Trojans will compete in the women's 100m sprint event. Brianna Selby, Samirah Moody,  Dajaz DeFrand, and Jassani Carter will look to provide something that has become a regularity this track season and potentially provide a USC sweep.

For the women's 4x100m relay, Madison Whyte will be joined by Moody, DeFrand, and Carter. Yemi John, Takiya Cenci, Carter, and Whyte qualified for the women's 4x400m relay.

In the women's 200m dash, Whyte, DeFrand, Carter, and Moody will look to have a strong performance. John also advanced to the women's 400m event.

Ashley Erasmus will participate in the shot put, which is an event she has done well in during her freshman year.

Looking at what is in store for the USC men's team

For the men's team, events already took place on Wednesday.

Max Thomas and Edward Nketia qualified for the men's 100m final on Friday.  Garrett Kaalund and Thomas will be in the men's 200m final. William Jones advanced to the men's 400m final. The same is true for Johnny Brackins Jr., who will participate in the men's 400m hurdles.

The relay teams are looking to cement what has been a good year for the Trojans. The 4x100m team consists of Taylor Banks, Nketia, Williams, and Thomas. Jacob Andrews, Jaelen Knox, Jones, and Kaalund will run during the men's 4x400m race for the Trojans.

Racquil Broderick qualified for the discus throw final. Elias Gerald will participate in the high jump in Eugene.

Throughout the late morning and afternoon of the NCAA Championships, USC athletes will be on display during their respective events, hoping to perform well enough to win and earn points toward a team victory.
