For the most part, USC has had a good start to the season in terms of injuries and setbacks. There have been, however, some notable developments that have occurred that Trojan fans continue to monitor.

On a positive note, Tobias Raymond is going to be able to play after having a midweek concern leave his status somewhat in jeopardy for the Purdue matchup. Considering how well USC has run the ball to begin the year, it is of utmost importance for the offensive line to maintain as much continuity as possible.

So far, Raymond has done well through camp and during the first two games to provide the needed size and grit that has largely been lacking on the Trojan offensive line.

In terms of those who are still out, Prince Strachan, Prophet Brown, Alex Graham, Bryan Jackson, and Caden Chittenden are not going to be able to see the field against the Boilermakers.

Strachan and Jackson picked up injuries during the earlier games themselves. For now, it looks like the Trojan staff is electing to exercise caution for the two players who would ordinarily see significant snaps.

Brown, Graham, and Chittenden have yet to suit up for a game and continue to work behind the scenes to get to a point that they are healthy enough to play for the Trojans.

Important USC development

Zacharyus Williams is a newer addition to the injury list. The receiver has shown the ability to make some important grabs for the Trojan offense. The transfer from Utah also serves as the team's backup returner. Although USC has plenty of quality options for that role, it does speak to the need for someone else to potentially step up and perform a duty that they otherwise would not have if Williams were healthy.

All in all, this is mostly a healthy USC team ready to play against Purdue.
