After a week off, the No. 16 USC Trojans will be back on the field and playing a couple time zones away from the cozy confines of Los Angeles. After a pretty gutsy road win over Penn State two weeks ago, the Trojans will have a similar challenge against Wisconsin.

It's going to be a tough home crowd to deal with at Camp Randall Stadium and the Badgers, while not a great team, are certainly capable of pulling the upset. I'm looking at the Trojans running game to be the difference here. King Miller had his third 100-yard game of the season against the Nittany Lions, and the USC ground game travels well on these road trips.

Rankings for USC and Wisconsin

The Trojans had a productive week off, moving up three spots to No. 16. It's been a slow crawl for USC, but the Trojans are in contention for a top-12 spot when the first CFP rankings are released on November 3.  Wisconsin was receiving votes in the previous polls, but a 17-7 loss to UCLA removed them from striking distance of the top 25.

Weather Forecast for USC vs. Wisconsin

It's going to be a pretty nice evening in Madison, with temperatures in the low 60s at kickoff with partly cloudy skies and calm winds.

USC and Wisconsin previous results

The Trojans had a week off after earning a 31-23 road win over Penn State on Oct. 10. Jayden Maiava threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns, while King Miller rushed for over 100 yards for the third time this season.

Wisconsin couldn't get much going on offense against UCLA in a 17-7 loss last Saturday. The Badgers had just 214 yards and 13 first downs. It was basically the Colton Joseph show, as he had 137 total yards (71 rushing, 66 passing) and the team's only touchdown.

USC vs. Wisconsin series history

The Trojans have a commanding 7-1 lead, but the two teams have only faced twice since 1968. Wisconsin's lone win came in the 2015 Holiday Bowl. USC won the last meeting between the two teams, a 38-21 decision in 2024 at the Coliseum.

Key storylines and matchup notes for USC and Wisconsin

USC's schedule is brutal the rest of the way and the Trojans might have to pull off an upset to feel good about its CFP chances, but the good news is that the team is pretty healthy coming off the bye week. It's another long road trip — the third one of the season, but that's the life USC signed up for when it joined the Big Ten.

Wisconsin's offense is all about Colton Joseph. The rest of the group of a timeshare of players that compliment the quarterback. Joseph leads the Badgers in rushing as well and with Abu Sama III still dealing with an upper-body injury, it's on the quarterback to really drive the bus.
