It can be difficult right now to have hope about USC in 2025. The product hasn't been where it needs to be in recent memory. Just because some of the latest seasons did not see enough Trojan success, however, does not mean that there is a destiny of disappointment within the program.

For some, there isn't a foreseeable way to envision a successful year for USC. This sentiment can't be passed off as analysis. Only basing what 2025 will look like on how the previous seasons went is far from anything that takes the multitude of factors or anything beyond the surface-level facts into consideration.

What has to be acknowledged is that this Trojan team is one that is truly doing what is needed in order to give a more competitive product on the field. The 'back office' operations in particular have taken a noticeable step up that is hard to dismiss, although that doesn't prevent others from looking to downplay USC's efforts in those areas as well.

More importantly, listening to the staff through the spring and early summer months and seeing the types of interactions that take place, there is a joint belief that the program is heading in the right direction, or at least on the right track.

Continuing down current path for USC

How one gets to a destination matters far more often, even if the efforts end up falling short in terms of wins and losses.

Wins are the ultimate barometer. There is a lot that is beyond the control of a team. Aspects that make it so that Trojan fans will be able to watch this team with pride in 2025. Granted, that alone will not be enough for many. The work and way in which the players, coaches, and staff are preparing for the upcoming season will enable the desired results to come.
