Details continue to emerge from the early morning encounter between Mark Sanchez and a truck driver from this past weekend. Sanchez was spending the weekend in Indianapolis, as he was part of the NFL coverage team for the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals.

The immediate news of the incident left the USC family as a whole concerned and hoping for Sanchez to make a recovery from his stabbing wounds.

Since then, however, the altercation itself appears to be far more serious for the former Trojan quarterback than what was initially believed.

As shared on X by the LA Times' Ryan Kartje, Sanchez has since been arrested by, and there will be a hearing in the Marion County Court on Tuesday.

According to the police reports, Sanchez confronted the 69-year-old truck driver. He was not happy with the person in question being in his way and approached him to move out of the way. The former USC quarterback was intoxicated at the time.

Sanchez initiated a physical struggle with the truck driver. Fearing for his life, the driver initially used pepper spray in an attempt to keep Sanchez at bay.

Although Sanchez took a moment after being sprayed, he continued to press the issue, and his actions led to significant injuries to the driver. This is when the driver, in self-defense, used his knife in order to stop Sanchez from causing further harm to him.

Sanchez has been charged and was arrested at the hospital. The charges include battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication.
