For everyone who has been concerned about the well-being of Alijah Arenas, he has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home with his family. A car accident last week resulted in his needing emergency care and being placed in an induced coma. Soon after, he woke up from it and was able to perform limited skills. Now, nearly a week after the incident, he is heading home.

In a statement released by the Arenas family, as shared by Shams Charania on X, members shared that he remained in high spirits and that he would continue to rest under the watchful eye of those closest to him. Earlier news had indicated that major injuries had been avoided. From the latest message, those expressing optimism appear to have every reason to believe that he will be at 100% health again.

While thanking everyone for the amount of positive outpouring that they have shown for Arenas, the family mentioned the continued recovery process for the 18-year-old. Further details were not disclosed. For the public, it's enough to know that potential worst-case scenarios have been avoided and that he will be able to continue his rehabilitation process under the care of his family, who have been with him every step of the way.

Continued support from USC for Arenas

In terms of a more basketball-focused aspect to the latest update, coach Eric Musselman had previously shared how much he was echoing the wishes of the Arenas family to further extend thoughts and prayers for the USC commit. It's unknown what the injury will mean in terms of allowing Arenas to start dribbling a basketball again.

In any event, the signs look optimistic that that will happen down the road. And when Arenas does step on the court for the first time, whether it's this year or next season, the Trojan crowd will continue to embrace and show their support for the USC athlete.
