USC basketball has a challenge on their hands against BYU in the Legends Classic
The 2020-21 season has started with two wins for USC basketball, but they’ll need to put on their best performance yet to keep that record clean.
The Legends Classic at Mohegan Sun has the Trojans set to face BYU at 11:30 a.m. PT on ESPN.
Like USC, BYU is replacing a bunch of key figures from last year’s team. However, they get back senior guard Alex Barcello who is averaging 21.3 points per game in the early stages of this campaign.
The Trojans will look for more big contributions from Isaiah and Evan Mobley under the basket as Tuesday’s action unfolds. Those two starters will be joined by Ethan Anderson, Tahj Eaddy and Drew Peterson, who led the team with 13 points against Montana.
The winner of the game on Tuesday will take on UConn on Thursday.
Here’s how you can watch the opening game of the tournament which will be called by Jon Sciambi and Jon Crispin on ESPN2…

USC basketball odds: -1
The Trojans are the narrowest of favorites over BYU, per Vegas Insider’s consensus line. The Cougars are 3-0 so far in 2020 with a 2-0 record against the spread despite lines of 22 and 20 points against New Orleans and Utah Valley.
USC needed overtime to overcome California Baptist in their opener while failing to cover a 19 point spread. They did, however, beat Montana by more than the 11-point line.
