Former USC football players like Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush and others were not impressed at all by the Trojans performance against ASU.
USC football found themselves behind ASU 24-14 in the third quarter with no sign of turning things around.
The response from former USC players on social media was not happy.
Matt Leinart let Daniel Jeremiah do the talking for him, but his approval of the message said it all.

Eric Wright, who played two years with the Trojans before transferring to finish his career elsewhere, laid out a list of ways USC was playing bad football.
Multiple turnovers = bad football

Multiple 3rd n longs and u can’t get off the field = bad football
Multiple plays of multiple missed tackles = bad football#USC #SomethingAintAddinUp
Former USC quarterback called out the Trojans for being overrated.
I’m a proud USC Trojan but I also know facts when I see them. Regardless of today’s outcome, The “powerhouse” programs of USC and Michigan are the most overrated football teams in the country. Longhorns, you are in this conversation too. Truth serum! Underachieving programs!

Reggie Bush came in with a hammer aimed at USC’s offense, which struggled to find success against ASU’s defense in the first three quarters.
The air raid offense lacks the ability to throw body blows that wear a defense down over 4 quarters

His critique of Graham Harrell’s scheme was echoed by Brandon Carswell, who played wide receiver for the Trojans.
Offensively, can we get some creativity? I know it’s turnovers, but we so bland. And run the ball

USC football didn’t start the 2020 season off as they wanted
It’s not uncommon for Twitter to slam USC coaches and players during games. When former players get in on the action you really know things aren’t going well.
The first three quarters were defined by turnovers. The Trojans had an interception and two fumbles lost. Those mishaps were the fault of key players like Kedon Slovis, Vavae Malepeai and Tyler Vaughns.
Sloppy play and some miscues were to be expected, but it was a major concern to see ASU’s defense shut down the Air Raid so thoroughly. Graham Harrell now has to prove his offense hasn’t been found out over the long offseason.
The stagnant offense did no favors to the defense playing their first game under new defensive coordinator Todd Orlando. Even if there were moments of progress shown by the defense, they were overshadowed by critical errors which led to points for the Sun Devils.
