USC football is inviting Trojan fans to get pumped up about the 2020 season with an epic Friday hype video.

It’s finally starting to feel like the eve of a new USC football season has arrived.

Friday night means Friday hype and the Trojans have brought the hammer with a new video all about getting everyone excited for the new campaign.

It definitely does the trick.

That video courtesy of USC’s in-house creative lab BLVD Studios features a prominent voiceover from Chris Claiborne, the former All-American and current quality control analyst for the Trojans.

USC football isn’t backing down from the hype for the 2020 team

Since the Lakers and Dodgers both won championships this year, USC has featured both LA success stories in their promo pieces for the coming season. The implication is clear.

The question is whether USC can back up that kind of talk. After all, they haven’t come close to going undefeated since Pete Carroll was the head coach.

This season will be different though. With only six regular-season games and a finale the Trojans intend to make the Pac-12 title game, the road to the conference championship and even a playoff spot is clear.

USC returns quarterback Kedon Slovis and a talented arsenal of wide receivers. They have a new defensive coordinator in Todd Orlando who is tasked with making the defense a force worthy of Graham Harrell’s offense.

Of course, the Trojans also have a head coach on the hot seat. Clay Helton has survived significant dips in his tenure, but another would likely spell his doom. He doesn’t just need to win this season, he needs to win well.

The first chance for USC to prove themselves is an early kickoff against ASU in front of the national viewing audience drawn by FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff. Any talk of playoff contention will be awakened or shuttered on Saturday morning at the Coliseum.
