USC football’s 2020 hype video stresses a mantra of “tough, disciplined, united.”

The 2020 USC football season now has a hype video.

Coming courtesy of the new video team, with a voice-over from USC great Willie McGinest, the Trojans also have a new mantra for the coming season.

Tough. Disciplined. United.

Are you ready to buy in yet?

USC football is getting hyped for the 2020 season

In the words of USC quality control analyst Lenny Vandermade, “If this don’t get you going, you don’t have a pulse!”

The hype video certainly does its job.

The Trojans aren’t weaving that hype out of air either. There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the coming season.

They start with Kedon Slovis, the sophomore quarterback who broke out in 2019 and should only get better in his second year under offensive coordinator Graham Harrell. It was almost a year ago now, so some might have forgotten it, but even keeping Harrell around was a big victory for the Trojans going into 2020.

Hopes for the offense leading the way to a Pac-12 title should only be increased by the return of stars like Tyler Vaughns and Amon-Ra St. Brown, plus Alijah Vera-Tucker’s decision to come back for another season on the offensive line.

The defense has a lot to prove with new defensive coordinator Todd Orlando at the helm, but Trojan fans can take heart in signs of his influence already coming through.

That slogan “Tough. Disciplined. United.” echos the messaging from USC’s entire defensive staff when they were introduced.

USC needs to follow through on that promise now. They won’t be able to hide from it either. Trojan fans have seen up close what a team looks like when it’s lacking in toughness or discipline in recent years. This team will be judged on how well it follows this tagline.
