USC’s 2020 roster ahead of Spring Camp was updated on Tuesday night with some major number changes to get used to.

A new season brings with it a new roster and some jersey number swaps for USC football.

On Tuesday night USC updated their Spring Camp roster with some noteworthy changes and number assignments for four early enrollees.

Arguably the biggest news is JT Daniels’ change from No. 18 to No. 10. He is taking advantage of Jack Sears’ transfer to claim an entirely new number. He wore No. 18 in high school at Mater Dei.

Daniels will be joined in the No. 10 by linebacker Ralen Goforth, who is taking over John Houston’s jersey after donning the No. 19 in 2019.

The freed-up No. 18 will now belong to an unlikely figure: Tight end Jude Wolfe. He’s trading in his more traditional jersey digits of No. 82 for the number he wore in high school at St. John Bosco.

Wide receiver Bru can’t wear the No. 5 he wore at Mater Dei since it is still unofficially retired by Reggie Bush’s Heisman status. So he’ll settle with wearing the No. 4. As a freshman, he briefly wore No. 14 while walk-on quarterback Trevor Scully. Scully is no longer on the roster.

Another new No. 4 emerges in the form of Max Williams, who wore the No. 24 as a freshman in 2019. Olaijah Griffin swapped his No. 4 on defense for the No. 2 midway through last season.

Finally, the No. 2 vacated by Devon Williams’ transfer will be occupied by wide receiver Munir McClain, who donned No. 13 previously.

Jersey number changes:

  • #2 Munir McClain from #13
  • #4 Bru McCoy from #14
  • #4 Max Williams from #24
  • #10 JT Daniels from #18
  • #10 Ralen Goforth from #19
  • #18 Jude Wolfe from #82

There are also new jerseys to keep track of. Those include wide receivers Gary Bryant Jr. and Joshua Jackson, along with kicker Parker Lewis and defensive lineman Kobe Pepe.

Since Velus Jones Jr. opted to transfer, his No. 1 came open for Bryant to wear.

Michael Pittman’s graduation allowed Jackson to take on his digit.

Lewis will wear the No. 48 as a true freshman competing for a kicking job.

The No. 94 has stood vacant since Rasheem Green departed after the 2017 season. It will now be worn by Pepe.

New jersey numbers:

  • #1 Gary Bryant Jr.
  • #6 Joshua Jackson
  • #48 Parker Lewis
  • #94 Kobe Pepe

USC begins Spring Camp on Tuesday, March 10. That’ll be the first chance for fans to get a look at the new numbers and the players wearing them.
