USC Spring Camp dates open to the public for 2020

USC Spring Camp 2020 will be open to the public for viewing on Howard Jones field with up to eight tackling days expected.

UPDATE: USC’s first day of Spring Camp practice has been moved from Tuesday, March 11 to Wednesday, March 12 because of weather concerns.

USC’s Spring Camp dates for 2020 have been officially announced and Trojan fans are welcome to attend.

This March and April, the Trojans will begin preparation for the 2020 season with practices three times a week, totaling 15 days of work.

All but one of USC’s Spring Camp dates will be open to the public on a “first-come basis.” Fans will be allowed to view practice from a designated area on the east side of Howard Jones Field.

The Trojans will also hold the annual Spring Showcase at the Coliseum on April 11. Tickets for that event will come on sale later in March while the Pac-12 Network will also broadcast the action.

The question on most fans’ minds, of course, is simple: Will there be tackling?

USC has indicated there will be.

The first two days of camp will feature no pads, as part of the NCAA’s mandated acclimation period. On Saturday, March 14, the Trojans are expected to practice in pads for the first time.

From there, USC plans to wear pads on Tuesdays and Saturdays with tackling segments involved.

However, it is not entirely clear if days in pads include shorts-and-shells or just full-pad days.
