USC football schedule: Trojans to play Fresno State in 2028
Fresno State announced a place on the USC football schedule for 2028, continuing the increasingly familiar series between the Trojans and Bulldogs.
The USC football schedule for 2021 is still up in the air, but the Trojans are looking quite a bit down the way when it comes to locking in future opponents.
On Thursday, Fresno State announced they have added USC to their schedule in 2028. The game will be at the Coliseum.

Fresno State has been a common opponent for the Trojans in recent years, given their proximity and willingness to come to Los Angeles without a return leg.
USC has beaten the Bulldogs in four-straight meetings. In 2019, 2014 and 2005 they bested them at the Coliseum while they also tasted victory in the 2013 Las Vegas Bowl matchup. Fresno State’s lone win in the series came in the 1992 Freedom Bowl, the two programs’ first ever meeting.
Two other meetings are scheduled for 2022 and 2026.
The Fresno State game is first on record for the 2028 campaign, though Notre Dame is also expected to be an opponent in the continuation of that historic rivalry series. That game should be in Los Angeles as well.
USC’s out of conference schedule is filled up through 2023, though the Trojans have reportedly begin to change plans when it comes to facing FCS UC Davis in 2021, per a report from USCFootball.com. The 2021 slate also includes a road trip to Notre Dame and a home tilt with BYU.
Trojan fans can look forward to a non-conference schedule including Alabama, New Mexico and Notre Dame in 2020.
The 2023 season will involve home games against Nevada and BYU as well as a road game against Notre Dame.
