USC football’s early enrollees have officially been assigned numbers as the Trojans released their 2019 roster ahead of Spring Camp.

The release of USC football’s official Spring Camp roster on Monday included the first look at what numbers the newest Trojans will be wearing as they begin their careers.

USC’s 11 early enrollees appear on the new roster, with some intriguing number choices.

The most surprising of those belongs to quarterback Kedon Slovis, who will wear No. 9, a coveted number for skill position players. It was most recently worn on offense by transferred receiver Randal Grimes, but JuJu Smith-Schuster rocked the threads to great effect.

Slovis wore No. 7 in high school, but that number is currently claimed by running back Stephen Carr.

Grimes is related, number-wise, to another new addition. Grayshirt wide receiver John Jackson III, the son of USC legend John Jackson, will suit up in Grimes’ No. 87 in 2019.

Early enrollee numbers:

#9 — QB Kedon Slovis#19 — LB Ralen Goforth#24 — P Ben Griffiths#24 — DB Max Williams#25 — DB Briton Allen#47 — LB Stanley Ta’ufo’ou#50 — DL Nick Figueroa#66 — OL/DL Gino Quinones#82 — TE Jude Wolfe#87 — WR John Jackson III#99 — DL/OLB Drake Jackson

Linebacker Ralen Goforth will look to walk in the footsteps of defensive graduate assistant Michael Hutchings, taking his No. 19.

Punter Ben Griffiths and defensive back Max Williams will each wear No. 24, which had been worn by graduated cornerback Isaiah Langley.

Defensive back Briton Allen is taking over Jack Jones’ No. 25, hoping to turn around the fortunes of the number on defense.

Former walk-on Reuben Peters vacated the No. 47, which will now be worn by linebacker Stanley Ta’ufo’ou.

Toa Lobendahn’s No. 50 is shifting over to the defensive side of the ball with junior college transfer Nick Figueroa.

Lineman Gino Quinones will take over the No. 66, which went unworn last year.

The No. 82 won’t be going anywhere despite the graduation of Tyler Petite. Tight end Jude Wolfe is stepping right into that shirt.

At the bottom of the roster sits defensive end and linebacker Drake Jackson in the No. 99, which was recently left behind by Oluwole Betiku’s transfer.
