The 2018 season opener of USC vs. UNLV is set to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Catch the action on the Pac-12 Network.

5 Things to Watch. USC vs. UNLV

It’s almost time for the 2018 season to begin. First on deck for the Trojans? The UNLV Rebels. Fans at the Coliseum and at home will get their first glance at new quarterback JT Daniels on Saturday, which should be reason enough to tune in.

USC is a sizable favorite over UNLV, with a 26.5-point gameday line according to Vegas Insider. They’ll be looking to avoid the drama of last year’s opener against Western Michigan, when the Broncos challenged the Trojans in a tighter-than-expected contest.

From the other perspective, the Rebels will hope the game plays out just like that one did, catching USC off guard and creating an opportunity for an upset. UNLV has some playmakers on offense like quarterback Armani Rogers and running back Lexington Thomas, who could certainly make it interesting if given the chance.

Complicating matters, the Trojans may be without starting center Toa Lobendahn because of an injury. They will definitely be missing starting safety Bubba Bolden, who is indefinitely unavailable because of an undisclosed personal matter.

Kickoff for USC vs. UNLV is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with a broadcast on Pac-12 Network, featuring a broadcast team of Ted Robinson, Yogi Roth and Jill Savage.
