RoT Madness: 1st Round Results from USC Football Tournament
The first round of RoT Madness is in the books, with USC football legends like Marcus Allen, Ronnie Lott and Junior Seau sailing to historic victories.
If you were looking for first round upsets ousting USC football greats, RoT Madness struggled to deliver. Chalk reigned supreme, as only four lower seeds advanced.
Taylor Mays, Robert Woods and Willie McGinest all did so as No. 5 seeds over a No. 4. Of the eight Trojans given a No. 1 seed, six won with at least 96 percent of the vote.
The biggest upset is plucky No. 7 seed Sedrick Ellis, who toppled No. 2 Tim Ryan in the Defensive Line bracket. A 2007 All-American, Ellis won by just four votes.
Ron Yary was the only No. 1 seed to not win with at least 88 percent of votes, as he squeaked by Anthony Muñoz by seven percentage points.
