Social media was full of love for USC basketball after the Trojans pushed Baylor to the final seconds, but couldn’t complete the upset in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
It was a disappointing end to USC basketball’s NCAA Tournament run on Sunday night when the Trojans fell, 82-78, to the No. 3 seed Baylor Bears in Tulsa.
USC once again overcame a double-digit, surging back from a five-point half time deficit in the early minutes of the second period. However, the Trojans came up just short as Baylor wrestled control back in the final minutes, then finished out the game from the free throw line.
Despite the loss, there was nothing but love for USC basketball on social media. Here’s the best of the reaction:
No @USC_Hoops team has ever won more games.

In life, it's either you win or you learn. There's no such thing as defeat as long as you learn and get better... #grateful ✌️?❤️

Chimezie Metu (USC): 28 points, 2nd most all-time by USC player in NCAA Tournament (31 by John Rudometkin 1960)

Bennie Boatwright was the last #USC player off the court. He stayed kneeling down at midcourt, pointed to the sky and then ran to the tunnel https://t.co/Z4S3cSlY4x

USC finished the season with a school-record 26 wins and a magical tournament run. The question now: Will Chimezie Metu and Bennie Boatwright return?
