Who would make a list of the most exciting Trojans since Reggie Bush? Plus USC football news links from around the web.
Can’t get enough USC football and basketball news? We’ve got your morning dose of all the best content from around the web concerning the men of Troy.
1st & 10:
First Word… On Tuesday afternoon, Joe Schad shared a list of the most exciting players he’s seen from the sidelines.
That list began with USC’s Reggie Bush, followed by Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Vince Young, Adrian Peterson, Robert Griffin III and Tyrann Mathieu.
Bush was a rare talent, checking excitement boxes in every way possible. He produced highlights as a runner, receiver, and returner. He was fast and shifty, bold and unpredictable. Jaw-dropping, is the word that comes to mind.
Schad will get no arguments from USC fans about the number one guy on his list.
But here’s a question for fans, jumping off Schad’s assessment: Who have been the most exciting players at USC since Bush?
Personally, no Trojan has been more exciting in the last decade than Marqise Lee. His performance in a losing effort against Arizona is one of the great individual games for USC ever.

After Lee, my list would also contain Buck Allen, Robert Woods, Nelson Agholor, Curtis McNeal, Mark Sanchez and Tre Madden.
That’s leaving out the likes of Damian Williams, Fred Davis, Stanley Havili and Ronald Johnson.
The great thing about this question though, is how different the list might look in a year or two.
It could easily be argued that JuJu Smith-Schuster and Adoree’ Jackson already belong in that number, perhaps even up near the top. Ronald Jones II is barreling towards a place as well.
Think about that, arguably three of the eight most exciting Trojans since Reggie Bush will be suiting up for USC in 2016.
If that doesn’t get you fired up for the start of the season, nothing could.
