Su’a Cravens called Justin Davis the most talented running back on the roster, plus more USC football news from around the web.

Can’t get enough USC football and basketball news? We’ve got your morning dose of all the best content from around the web concerning the men of Troy.

1st & 10:

First Word… Just call them Justin Davis Appreciation Days.

For the second year in a row, at or around Pac-12 Media Days, talk has turned towards praising the often under-the-radar USC running back.

Last year it was quarterback Cody Kessler at Media Days who called Davis one of the best running backs he’s ever seen play.

Friday morning, it was Su’a Cravens who took to Twitter to sing Davis’ praises

“I’ve been saying it and I’ll continue to, Justin Davis is the most talented RB on the USC roster,” Cravens tweeted. “Don’t sleep on him. He’s healthy now!”

Davis earned an All-Pac-12 honorable mention last year after gaining 902 yards and scoring seven touchdowns. He had his greatest stretch of production in the second half of the season with Tre Madden limited by injury.

Coming into the 2016 season, however, Davis has largely been overshadowed by expectations surrounding Ronald Jones II, who broke Charles White’s freshman rushing record last year and flashed so much ability he earned a place on the Maxwell Award watch list.

There’s no questioning Jones’ talent as an runner, particularly his homerun ability.

Still, Davis is primed to return as the Trojans’ starting running back with a greater level of experience and all-around ability. His knowledge of the offense as a whole, ability to pass block reliably and add a dynamic by catching the football will ensure that Davis will be a key figure for the Trojans.
