1st & 10:
First Word… Another day, another list.
Tuesday it was four-star defensive end Joshua Paschal who named USC in his Top 7, along with Clemson, Oklahoma, Maryland, Notre Dame, Tennessee and North Carolina.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound prospect is the No. 9 strongside defensive end in the 2017 class, according to the 247 Sports composite ranking. He’s also the No. 8 player in Maryland.
Paschal competed at Nike’s The Opening this past weekend and is a favorite to sign with the hometown Terpes, though USC’s rival Notre Dame has made a push for his pledge.
The Trojans’ 2017 class has ten commits, but none of that number are defensive linemen, which is a position of need for USC in this cycle.
