Porn video shot at the Coliseum??

In it’s many, many years of existence, the LA Coliseum has been knows for many things. It’s famous for being the spot of two Olympics; where the L.A. Raiders and Dodgers briefly played; where Pop John Paul II celebrated mass; where Prseident John F. Kennedy accepted the democratic presidential nomination; and, most illustriously, where the USC Trojans have dominated other programs for forever.
But this story has probably got to be the craziest thing since the Coliseum was erected (see what I did there?).
Before this story can be told one thing needs to be clear: NO USC ATHLETES WERE INVOLVED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO. NONE. AT ALL. WHATSOEVER.
OK. Now with that out of the way…a porno was totally shot at the Coliseum. In real life.
Yeah, I don’t really know what to say either.
According to a story by the LATimes, the video called–seriously–“The Gangbang Girl #32” was shot in 2001, using the turf of the Coliseum and the stadium as the location for a football-themed for the x-rated debauchery. The video featured 40 minutes of group sex, right there on the turf.
The movie credits also list the date of production as Sept. 16th, 2001, which would have coincided with USC Football season. USC was home the week before filming and two weeks after.
I don’t know what’s worse: the fact that they tainted the sacred ground of the Coli, or the fact that there are THIRTY TWO other videos like this!
The filming for the video was done at night, with scenes of the iconic red and white seats and the tunnel that Trojan athletes use to enter the stadium. The Coliseum is never mentioned by name but those scenes clearly give away its identity. It is not yet clear who authorized permission for this, but since this is a stadium funded by tax payers, someone’s head will surely roll for this misappropriation of use.
One of the men in the video spoke to the times about the experience of…working in the Coliseum:
"“I was just in awe that we were at the Coliseum,” said a star of the film, who goes by the name Mr. Marcus. “I’ve made movies for about 20 years and I’ve done a lot of things, but that one really stands out.… I mean, who gets to have sex on the Coliseum floor?”"
The LATimes tried to reach the production company of the video, Anabolic video, but were unsuccessful. The Times also heard from a spokesman of the California attorney general, who said he is not sure whether it is illegal to shot pornography on state property. They did find out though, that in order to film at the Coliseum after hours and to use the lights, some high-raking Coliseum official would have to approve it.
This incident is naturally going to tie into the ongoing investigation of the officials of the Coliseum, who stand accused of mass corruptions.
On the LATimes page about this story, they have a video interview with Mr. Martin, one of the men in the video. Check it out, along with their coverage of this story and the investigation of the Coliseum officials.
