Update: Some Penn State Players Stand By Commitment; Redd MIA

The future of Penn State’s football players is the pressing issue on the minds of college football fans and coaches, as the NCAA decided that as a part of the sanctions, the athletes can transfer immediately and with no eligibility penalty. At 9:30 ET this morning, around 30 Penn State players gathered at the Holuba Hall practice field to affirm their commitment to the Nittany Lions, and USC’s most recent interest, Silas Redd, was conspicuously absent.

We don’t want to read too much into that yet as he could have been absent for a number of reasons, but this is definitely worth noting.

As you can see, Redd is listed as on the fence.

There is still clearly lots of uncertainty surrounding Penn State, so it looks like we are going to have to wait just a little while longer for Redd, the rest of the players or Coach Bill O’Brien to inform us one way or the other of the future of these athletes.
