USC football has some of the most traditional uniforms in the game. They're as iconic as they come in college football, as the team has won 11 national championships (second all-time) with basically the same uniform.
It makes for these uniforms to be considered some of the best in the country. After all, nobody ever stops talking about the uniform showdown between USC and UCLA every year when that rivalry day comes around. The color dynamics are perfect. J.P. Scott of Athlon Sports notices just like everybody else, and ranked USC as having the 15th-best uniforms in the nation.
Only two Pac-12 teams were ranked to have better uniforms than SC. UCLA was ranked higher, which is fine and understandable, as their colors pop perfectly along with SC's whenever the two schools play each other. Both have elite uniforms.
Oregon was also ahead of USC, but everyone would hope so. It would be incredibly sad if Oregon--who cares more about uniforms than anyone--didn't at least have that going for them.
The Ducks have never won a single championship in their entire existence, so it would be nice if they at least were good at the one successful area of the program. Heck, even UCLA has won a championship before, and they're a very weak program that's only won 613 games in their entire history (just 61st all-time).
USC football has teased some sort of slight changes for an alternate uniform recently.
Caleb Williams was certainly on board with USC football getting alternate uniforms too, but with uniforms that continue to be towards the top of the game already, SC may not want to try to fix what is most certainly not broken.
"There's something magical that happens when the Saturday night lights of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum bounce off those cardinal and gold Trojan uniforms. USC's uniform is classic and sleek. It's one of the more traditional looks in all of football, and the gold Trojan on the helmet lets even the casual viewer know who and what they are watching."- J.P. Scott, Athlon Sports
There undoubtedly is something magical about those uniforms and what they provide to college football fans' eyes on Saturdays. When USC is on top of the college football world, there's nothing like this Trojan program. The Cardinal and Gold uniforms provide the aesthetics, and these classic fits have never, and will never get old.
