On Monday night, the nation watched as the Connecticut Huskies were crowned NCAA Men’s basketball champions for the fifth time in their history. UConn ended up defeating the #5 seed San Diego State Aztecs 76-59.

The USC Trojans need to take note and figure out a way to create some interest in their program if they have any chance of making noise in the March Madness tournament. One way to do this is by acquiring commitments from very talented players. Luckily, they may have a future superstar next year.

Isaiah Collier is considered to be the nation’s #1 national recruit according to 24/7 Sports recruiting services. This 5-star Point Guard is coming out of Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA, and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year out of his home state. He looks to contribute right away for the Trojans this upcoming season.

Collier was invited to play in the McDonald’s high school All-Star Game last week. He didn’t want to be overshadowed by LeBron James’ son Bronny on this special night. The 6-3, 180-pound point guard had a game-high 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting and pulled down three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

This accomplishment earned the USC incoming freshman the MVP of the game for Team East. Collier shined when the spotlight was at its brightest. The Trojans will need to see many more performances like this from him if they want to improve on last season’s first-round exit from the dance.

Fight On!
