2023 USC Football QB commit Malachi Nelson participated in the Elite 11 and his highlights are out. Unsurprisingly, they look great for the five-star prospect (all recruiting ratings and rankings in article are as of 247Sports):
#USC QB commit @Malachi Nelson was sharp last night in his Elite 11 “Pro Day” performance. Of the few incompletions, most would have been hauled in by a college receiver. Meanwhile, he flashed two of his best traits — his downfield touch and his ability to throw on the move. pic.twitter.com/mhga2fTlHV

As TrojanSports.com pointed out, the scouting report from Nelson's performance at the Elite 11 is quite impressive. Anyone watching the highlights, at least, can also see exactly what the reports are saying.

Watching Nelson drop these touchdown dimes gets SC fans even more excited for when he'll be up at SC and throwing touchdown passes to the likes of Makai Lemon and Zachariah Branch. In fact, Lemon, his target at Los Alamitos High School was at the Elite 11 too:

No helmet, no problem, for USC football commit Lemon when corralling a perfect toss from Malachi Nelson.
There was no doubt that Malachi Nelson would show out at the event when he was seen throwing with legendary USC Football QB Matt Leinart to get loose:

Nelson won't be with USC this upcoming season, of course, as he's going into his senior year of high school in the 2022-2023 school year. He'll be here for the 2023 season, though, and will be competing with Miller Moss for the job in 2024. Caleb Williams will likely be off to the NFL by then, so Nelson would have a shot.
Nelson, the No. 2 QB recruit in the country and No. 2 overall player, has shown a lot of promise for quite some time. He was originally committed to coach Lincoln Riley when he was at Oklahoma. His fit with Riley's system is so strong that he made sure to commit to the Trojans when Riley made the move.
Nelson is the No. 1 player in California, and now will get to play for his home squad in SC. At 6-3, 180 pounds, he'll get another year in high school to bulk up and one more in 2023 when he gets his first taste at a college weight room before he'll compete to be a starter. An athletic kid who's a great pure thrower, there's a lot to be excited about when it comes to Nelson and his talents.
