On USC football's first day of spring practice, Caleb Williams mistakenly missed the entrance to the practice field when making his way over. Look, it was his first day of practice, so something of the sort was bound to happen. Videos of it happening and playfully joking about it went viral. Williams, however, had the best response:

Again, it's a pretty understandable mix up. It sounds like something I would do if I were in his shoes, so I certainly relate. Once he found that practice field, however, he didn't really make any mistakes at all. His teammates all had great things to say about their first taste of playing with the elite QB after practice, from projected starting slot WR Mario Williams (who actually played with him at OU last year), to starting C Brett Neilon, to dual-threat RB Austin Jones.

It's no surprise. Caleb is a top three quarterback in the country. He's the same guy who was the leading Heisman contender of the season at one point despite not even starting until the second half of his true freshman season last year. He scored 27 touchdowns despite not starting until the second half.

Caleb Williams is going to pop off in his first year with USC football.

Caleb Williams already gained a year of experience under new USC Football Head Coach Lincoln Riley last year, and will only be more comfortable and familiar with the system in Year 2. He averaged 9.1 yards per pass attempt last year, and 5.6 yards per carry last year.

Now he comes to a team who had the No. 1 rated O-Line in the country according to PFF in 2021, along with two other four-star transfers in Mario and Colorado WR1 Brenden Rice, as well as an elite RB who just transferred from Oregon in Travis Dye. 2022 No. 3 RB recruit in the country, Raleek Brown, flipped to USC when he saw Riley and his offense head to Los Angeles, adding yet another perfect fit as a weapon for Caleb and Riley to work with. He'll master quite a bit more than identifying the entrance to the practice field by the time 2022 is over.
