USC football players and fans were fired up for the return of USC football.

Thursday brought great news for USC football players and fans who have been waiting breathlessly for the return of Pac-12 football.

The conference voted to restart the 2020 season this fall with a start date set for Nov. 6.

After eight months of waiting already, there are just a few more weeks until Trojan football will finally be played.

The best social media reactions to USC football’s return:

Trojan players and coaches jumped on social media to express their excitement.

Cornerback Chris Steele sent out a challenge to the conference:

Offensive lineman Jalen McKenzie went to Instagram with a bite of a video:

USC director of football operations Joseph Wood was ready with a video:

Meanwhile, USC director of scouting Trey Johnson brought some celebratory vibes:

What kind of fan reaction did you have?

The rush of pure excitement like Tyler Mone?

Were you like Adam Bradford, who immediately saw the possibilities for the Trojans?

Or maybe you’re like Connor Kerrigan who took a more pessimistic view.

At least Jimmy Goodman is excited to be hurt.

As for the conference title game coming on a Friday night? Reign of Troy’s own Michael Castillo nailed the response:

Really, most people are just happy to have Pac-12 After Dark back.

In the end, the USC official football account said it best.

A schedule still needs to be sorted out, but the Trojans are coming back to a television near you. That’s because fans will not be allowed in Pac-12 stadiums for the season.

Even if it’s not a perfect fall filled with tailgating and days at the Coliseum, at least its something.
