Michael Pittman’s selection by the Colts in the NFL Draft was met by approval from USC and Colts fans.

USC football’s involvement on Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft was quick and easy.

The Indianapolis Colts used their first selection of the second round to pick up a trusty wide receiver target for new quarterback Phillip Rivers. That pass-catcher was Michael Pittman.

Pittman was the eighth receiver taken in the first 34 picks of the draft, which goes to show just how loaded this wide receiver class was.

For the player and his new home in the pros, the next step is proving his value on the field.

But first, take a look at how the Twitterverse reacted to Pittman and the Colts’ new partnership.

Here’s how the Colts welcomed Pittman into their ranks:

USC’s official response included a video from a Pittman superfan:

Clay Helton, USC coaches, and players took the time to congratulate Pittman on his draft selection:

As for the media, there was nearly a consensus on the value of the pick from analysts and writers who had been evaluating Pittman as one of the steals of the draft:

Colts fans were definitely on board with their team’s selection, embracing Pittman with open arms:

Pittman was USC’s second selection in the 2020 draft, becoming the Trojan’s 511th pick in history. He follows in a string of wide receivers from Troy who came into the league in the second round. Most recently, those include JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marqise Lee, and Robert Woods.

Both Smith-Schuster and Woods have managed to carve out strong careers to far while Lee is hoping for a healthier and more productive time in New England, where he just signed. Pittman has the chance to live up to their example or do them one better.
