George Farmer shocked the USC twittersphere Wednesday when he declared for the 2015 NFL Draft, despite a limited college resume.
In fact, that resume consumed most of the talk on social media after Farmer’s announcement. After all, the speedy wide out finished his USC career with just 30 catches, 363 yards and four touchdowns.
Here’s a look at the best tweets discussing Farmer’s departure.
Does Steve Sarkisian sound in favor of George Farmer turning pro: ``At the end of the day, he made his decision.'' #USC

George Farmer has great straight-line speed. But with only 4 starts and 25 grabs this year, #NFL worthy? No. pic.twitter.com/xZRzpkTlxQ

For people asking, I don't believe Farmer will be drafted simply because he has 30 career catches. Sign as a free agent and prove himself.

FYI: THREE of George Farmer's high school wide receiver teammates are in the #NFL right now. #USC #Serra

I think George Farmer's 40-time will be killer. Not sure if his shuttle or 3-cone times will be that spectacular, though, & that's important

One puzzling thing on Farmer's decision if it's bc he didn't think he'd be featured...does he not have enough units to graduate & transfer?
— Shotgun Spratling (@ShotgunSpr) January 14, 2015
If Farmer were to graduate, he could transfer and not have to sit out. Then he could possible go somewhere and prove himself at NCAA level.

In the #WSU and #Cal games this year, #USC WR Nelson Agholor had 73 more receiving yards than George Farmer had in his entire career.

@myshamelessself @MichaelJLev I have to imagine he's just tired of school. Seen the guys in his class leave, have success on next level.

In Farmer's defense, it's not like staying would've yielded more catches/PT. Sark is gonna use the younger guys next season

George Farmer's an intriguing prospect. Ex 100m sprint champ. Came to #USC with a lot more hype than HS teammates Robert Woods & Marqise Lee
