Three & Out:

  1. 101 Days Until Fall Camp: There are 101 days until USC returns. That’s what we learned yesterday when it was announced that fall camp will begin on August 4th. What will occupy your mind through those 101 day? The NBA playoffs featuring Taj Gibson and Demar Derozan? The NFL Draft featuring Marqise Lee and company? The World Cup? Baseball? The endless search for recruiting nuggets?
  2. Recruiting Nuggets: Fresh off the commitment of Chuma Edoga, the USC coaching staff is still hard at work putting together next year’s pivotal 25-man recruiting class. Earning offers Wednesday were three-star offensive tackle Andre James out of Herriman, Utah and sophomore outside linebacker Caleb Kelly out of Fresno. James, who stands 6’5, 275 pounds has offers from more than a dozen schools while USC’s offer is just Kelly’s third, though the young defender will certainly attract more attention as he kicks off his junior year, especially considering his already impressive size at 6’3, 215 pounds.
  3. Wesley’s Transfer Favorites: The moment Byron Wesley announced his intentions to transfer after graduating USC this May, he became one of the hot commodities in college basketball, with more than a few big programs eager for a chance to land him. Wesley’s father told Yahoo! Sports that the three schools who sit atop the pack right now are Gonzaga, Pittsburgh and Michigan State.

They said it:

“From where we started to where we finished, we got exponentially better. But [we’re] really not close to where we need to be.”

— Justin Wilcox, on the defense after spring camp.
