No. 11 starting quarterback in the Pac-12: Jack Plummer--California Golden Bears

Jack Plummer transfers to California from Purdue, and hopes to give Cal's QB room a bit of a boost with Chase Garbers done with college ball. Plummer doesn't have a ton of on-field experience, playing in just 17 games despite playing three years at Purdue.

Like Lewis, he does do a good job protecting the football. He threw eight interceptions in seven games his first year (2019), but tossed just two in three games in 2020, and none in seven games in 2021. The issue with him has just been the lack of productivity with these drives that he's getting.

Averaging only 6.9 yards per pass attempt and 7.1 adjusted yards per pass attempt, it's hard to be too bullish on his chances for great success up in Berkeley. The one thing to point to for Cal fans, though, is that he's actually been decently accurate in his last two years.

Completing 71% of his passes two years ago, and 68.5% of his passes last year, he has a baseline level of accuracy that this Golden Bears offense can surely work with. His development will be important, as he's not inheriting the best situation as he embarks on his Cal career.
