USC football: Game-by-game predictions for 2022 season

Game-by-game prediction for USC football vs. Fresno State: W--41-30
USC football will be back at home for the Fresno State game, taking on the Bulldogs in a matchup that's rather familiar for the Trojans. SC played Fresno State three times in the previous decade, and many of the players who were here the last time the two squads faced off (2019) are still here.
SC won that contest, by the way, just as they have done in all four of their previous contests against Fresno State. They've only lost to Fresno State once, and it was in 1992. But it's not just the history that bodes well for the Trojans, but that Kalen DeBoer is no longer the coach at Fresno State. That's not to say that Jeff Tedford can't be a good head coach, but that USC has the edge in that department.
That being said, this game will not just be a blowout because USC has a better first-year head coach, and a lot of talent on offense. Jake Haener is a good quarterback, and will be back with the team for 2022.
A QB who sports big play potential often, they could potentially even engage in a shootout with USC. The problem is that shootouts against USC aren't a formula for winning, with the weapons SC has outside and the quarterback that they have themselves.
Projected 2022 Record: 3-0
