Examining USC football's record against Northwestern: 5-0 (100%)

USC football has been lucky enough to play the lowly Northwestern football program five times before. They obviously took advantage of every single one, and both SC and Northwestern fans will absolutely remember their last time that they faced off. It was in the 1995-1996 Rose Bowl.

Unfortunately for Northwestern, that was the day they lost the only Rose Bowl they had ever been to. They have not been back since. Unfortunately for them, elite USC Wide Receiver Keyshawn Johnson had some fun on his coming out party before being the No. 1 overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft.

Johnson won Rose Bowl MVP, highlighted by the biggest play of the game; his 56-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter to put the Trojans up 31-19. SC won the game 41-32. It was the only game where Northwestern could put up any points against the Trojans, and they still couldn't get it done.

USC has held Northwestern to 10.4 points per game in these five contests. The other four games other than the Rose Bowl saw the Trojans limiting NW to zero points, seven points, seven points, and six points respectively. If the Trojans are in the same division as Northwestern, that would be bad news for Northwestern.
